What a fun night...

Last night I went out with a couple of wonderful ladies from The Ridge. We ate amazing Mexican food, talked, and pretty much were asked to leave the restaurant because all of the workers wanted to go home. What, really?! It was only 11pm! We had a great time just talking, laughing, crying, laughing till we cried, and sharing stories.

At first I didn't want to go because I am full of excuses, and we were eating way past my normal dinner time, but I went anyways. And I am so glad that I did!

I have been doing a women's Bible study with some ladies from my neighborhood group, and it has been about developing relationships with women. The study is by Jen Hatmaker, and please let me HIGHLY recommend her! I have done two of her studies, and they are awesome! Especially because she is a pastor's wife, so she knows what we all go through! Yesterday morning was the last time we met, we had completed the book and in the last chapter it basically talked about throwing away all of your excuses, and get your lazy butt up off the couch and go do something with another girl, or a group of girls.

Making friends is hard for me sometimes. Eric is the outgoing one and I usually am the quiet, keep to myself one. That's how we work. I am really good in small groups, one on one, but with a lot of people I get nervous. I am scared I am going to say something dumb, or people will think something funny about me. And especially being a pastor's wife, I never want to share too much about me, someone else, Eric, or do anything to jeopardize his job. You never really know who you can trust. But that is another one of my excuses...

So here is my encouragement to you all...get out there and make friends, grow your relationships, spend time with people, make the effort. I am really good at chit-chat, but I need to get better at really caring, and showing that I care. God created us to thrive and live in community with each other. We were made for one another.

What a great night last, and to think I might have missed out.
