Ho, Hum Type of Day

Today has been one of those boring, yet relaxing days here in our house.  Molly was up about 4 different times last night with a croup cough, so lets just say we didn't get a lot of sleep!  I usually go to a Bible study on Wednesday mornings, but decided to stay home, so we don't get any of the other kids there sick.  I don't think Molly is contagious, but her cough and nose are so gross, that I didn't want the other Moms to think, "good grief, why is that kid here?!"  Because I would probably think that myself, just being honest :)

So we have read books, watched movies, played with the kitchen in Molly's room, and just plain old hung out.  Oh, we are still in our pajamas too!  How nice, other than the occasional cough and sneeze.

Last night we had some frineds over that are getting married in March.  Eric is performing their wedding.  We got talking about all of their wedding plans and it made me think about what I would want to do over from our wedding, or if I could do it over again, would I do it the same?  We laughed a lot talking about different weddings we all have been to, and how things didn't go as planned, or how things were so awesome.

If I could do 2 things over again at our wedding it would be the photographer, and the DJ at the reception.  We hired a photographer from our area that said he usually shot weddings with his daughter, however his daughter was busy the day of our wedding, so his wife came.  Lets just say they fought more than took pictures.  It got to the point that we couldn't handle listening to them fight, so we just stopped taking pictures!  Plus, I wish I would have had time with Eric before the wedding.  I was so dead set on that he would see me for the first time walking down the aisle, no one could have changed my mind about that, but now looking back, I wish we could have met in the sanctuary with no one around and just had time to take it all in, and savor the moment together.  Then had pictures taken before the wedding.  But hindsight is 20/20 right?

Then the DJ, he was just awful!  Nice guy, but an awful DJ, maybe that's why he said he would do it for free.  Other than that, our wedding was ours, we did it our way, and it was special.  Things didn't go as planned, like Eric's Grandma being 20 minutes late, my Dad unable to find his pants, and Eric pulling my veil out when we kissed.  Oh and the unity candle not lighting, but those are all part of our story.

What are some funny things that happened at your wedding?  What would you do over?

Well, now I am off to lay on the couch, and maybe fall asleep.  Hey, aren't we supposed to nap when the baby naps?  Even if the baby is 2 :)

I am off to nap while the kids nap as well and they are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2!

Interesting what you said about your wedding because we have been talking about that lately!

I would have spent more on photography. Our pictures are fine, we just got what we paid for!

I was happy with pretty much everything else! It was a gorgeous day!

And I didn't witness this, but apparently after we left the reception, some of my aunts and uncles were dancing on the tables. Now that is funny!

First of all, if you were up 4 times with Molly last night, you deserve a nap!!!

Our wedding day was perfect ~ but not really. . . It rained 4 inches! Downpoured actually between the wedding and the reception. And my sister was the MOH of she had a terrible migraine, was sick and in the bathroom the entire day. . . so sick, in fact, that she wasn't there for the actual wedding. THAT was heart breaking!!! And the only thing I wish I could change. While we were on our honeymoon, my mom went by our house to check on things and found my sister curled up on the bed beside my wedding gown sobbing. Broke my heart!!!

Some friends of ours recently told us about attending a wedding where the pastor said - numerous times, mind you - in the service in a loud voice, "the bedroom is for lovemaking." over and over he said it! How uncomfortable!!! Please tell Eric to refrain from sharing that bit of advice in the middle of the service!! :-)

I must agree with a re-do on the photographer! I'm thankful I was able to find a friend who took pictures for cheap but at the same time I look at other people's photos from their wedding and think "OH THAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I'VE EVER SEEN"
but oh well, we have a few really good shots and I still look through the pictures often!
and 2
umm...I don't know thats really my only complaint!
sometimes Eric and I talk about if we were to get married now at this point in our life who would we have in the wedding party different and you and fergs are always our constents! I'm so glad we're still sooo close! I thank God for our friendship! LOVE YOU

I hope that tonight has more sleep in store for you two!!

You know, I loved how we had all our loved ones there at our wedding and that was so nice but I think it would be so cool to have a destination wedding. I'd prolly pick Hawaii. :)

I'm sorry Molly's not been feeling well today. Alyssa had a little bit of a temp today but she seems better with a little Tylenol!

I know what you mean about feeling like you wish you could do things over at your wedding. I have the same feelings about our photographer and DJ. We were on a budget and had to pay for most of the wedding ourselves, so we couldn't go with the best of the best. But, like you said, it all worked out in the end and for the most part we had a great day. Can't believe it's been seven years though!

I LOVE jammy days! :) Our wedding day was gorgeous and fairly perfect... well, except for the fact they Jeremy didn't pack his passport for the cruise! It was back home, 4 hours away, in Iowa. So, his brother, sister and aunt drove all the way to iowa and back that night to deliver the passport at our hotel!

If I could do anything differently, I would have had an earlier wedding/reception. I also wouldn't have left for our honeymoon until a day or so after. I was SO EXHAUSTED from family, planning, decorating... I couldn't enjoy the reception or the first few days of our vacation because I was so tired. but, it was wonderful. :)

That is just horrible that your photographers fought at your wedding! How sad!

I joke with my hubby all the time about my "second wedding" (he knows I'm referring to when we renew our vows) I really want it to be outdoors and I want it videotaped. An amateur videotaped our wedding and it's hard to see.

I hope Molly is feeling better soon! Sounds like you definitely deserve a nap though, being up so much last night.

Our wedding went pretty well for the most part. We only had 3 months to plan, so it was pretty hectic. A few things I would change would be to try on more dresses before picking one. I loved my dress, but I wish I'd looked more. A different photographer would be another thing. My brother in law took a bunch of pictures and his look better than most of the professional ones. Thankfully everything went smoothly the day of the wedding except for a drenching rain about 15 minutes before the wedding...right as tons of guests were arriving and when the bridesmaids and I were trying to get to the church :)

How did I miss your post from yesterday? Anyhow, I don't know why but I burst out laughing when you said your Dad lost his pants. LOL!! I hope Molly is feeling better. I have a sore throat today and I'm hoping it goes away! Hope you got some rest today too. Our wedding went pretty good, but our photographer was mean to people. He would snap at them if they tried to take pics of us while he was! Embarassing!! It was funny too that I recorded a song of me singing to be played during the wedding as a surprise to Morgan and he never did know it was me until after the wedding because the preacher forgot to say something before it started playing. Ha! I kept trying to whisper it to him, but he thought I just meant the song represented me, but I was trying to tell him it was me singing. LOL! It was funny :)
