Julie and Julia

Today while Molly (and Eric) napped, I watched this...

We don't get to the movies very often, okay that is an understatement.  Since Molly has been born, so almost 2 1/2 years, we have seen 2  movies together at the movie theater.  Isn't it ironic that our church meets in the busiest movie theater in Milwaukee, yet we never go.  But we do rent movies from the Red Box pretty often.

So today while we were at Super Wal-Mart **sidenote, this impromptu trip there made my whole weekend!  We have to go 4 towns over to get to one, and Eric knows how much I love going, so we made a roadtrip today to go and he let me walk around the entire store.  I know this could be labeled pathetic, like my oreo eating, but I just love me some Super Wal-Mart.  Let me stess the Super part of it.  We have Target on every corner here and I love Target too, but there is something about Super Wal-Mart.  I know, I need help, and I am sure my MIL is cringing over this right now, she is not a Wal-Mart fan, but my weekend was made**

So that might not have been a sidenote, rather a whole nother blog post!  When we were leaving Wal-Mart, Eric asked if I wanted to rent a movie, and I said I wanted to see Julie and Julia.  He of course begrudgingly rented it and then fell asleep during it!

It was a good movie, I liked it.  It definitely didn't end the way I thought it would, that was the only disappointing part of it I thought.  I won't give it away, but it was still cute.  I loved the idea that Julie, the main character was a blogger.  At times I felt encouraged, like yea, go blogging, and then I felt discouraged at times too, that chick blogged everyday, 365 days, who can do that?!  Even in the movie when she was sick, she still cooked and blogged about it!

Overall it was a fun, cute, uplifting movie.  There was only one bad wor that I remember and it was like, why did that put that in there??  It made no sense, and it didn't make a dramatic point.  Oh well.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

We watched it last weekend and I loved it. I know what you mean about the ending though. I asked my husband mid movie - 'Am I that bad' with the whole thing 'What would my readers do if I didn't post something.' "They'd live!" Haha. But, I did enjoy it too. And in the past two years I've been to the theater twice with hubby and once last month with Bella. It's called mommyhood!

We never get to go to the movies either, but since Lily is finally getting old enough, we've been to more movies in the past year than in the past 10 years, I think!

I try to avoid our super Walmart, but I always seem to end up there every couple of weeks. I hate it though. Although they do have good prices! I like to go if I have time to look around, but usually I'm in a hurry and that place is so huge, it doesn't go well with being in a hurry!

I liked Julie and Julia...I thought Meryl Streep did such a good job doing Julia Child. I liked everything about the movie except for the bad word and it was so in-your-face- and loud and unavoidable...I hated it. It was so stupid that they put that right in the middle of the movie when you were so not expecting it.

But the real Julie that has a blog uses that word in her blogging...I would hate that...and certainly wouldn't follow her. (:>)

But the movie was good other than that...

I have a love hate relationship with Wal-Mart. I hate to go there and it is always so busy...but once I am there I do spend forever in there looking around. (:>)

My hubby took me to see The Young Victoria a couple of nights ago and it was really good! You will have to see that one.

Thanks for the review! I've wanted to see it, but haven't yet. We have Clearplay, so that would take out the bad word.
Hope you have a good weekend. Praying for you!

Haven'tseen it yet. Will have to go rent it now.

Walmart- my daughter hates it too.
We have Super Walmarts here. Two to be exact one East of us and one north of us. Everybody calls the North one the gedo Wally World.

There are certain times of the day that we really try to avoid being in that area. We find that grocery shopping is easier and much faster if you go early --EARLY.

I function much better in the early morning then later in the day. So, on Saturday mornings it is normally a 5:30 - 6 A.M. breakfast together at Debbie's Diner then off to Walmart to make our contribution there.

If we go any other time on the week end-- We both hate it. Dealing with all the people. Lots less people are roaming around at 6:30 A.m.(Oh, yes, you have to put up with the noise from the floor cleaners and the stock boys and gals. But the general public in that area are still in bed). And that is the time of the day I like to go.
Have a great week end.

I have been wanting to see that movie too. I will have to rent it. I thought it would be cool because it was about a blogger. I guess I am that crazy person. I blog everyday...but very silly stuff and mostly pictures so it really isn't hard to keep up.:)

OK! Funny you should blog about this! We watched it a couple of weeks ago and I almost blogged about it! I could totally relate to her when she was excited about getting over so many comments and followers! I think it is a great movie for bloggers to watch. I was also disappointed with the ending. I wanted it to be different really bad!!!
Oh and girl...I love me some Super Wally world too! My sis lives by Bentonville, Ark...the home of Walmart! They have the best Walmarts EVER!!! You would totally love going in one!! Oh My word don't get me started!

I've been wanting to watch that movie too but haven't done that yet. I think what's stopping me is the fact that my Hubby hates watching chick flicks!

Know what you mean about not getting out to the movies as much as you'd like. I was like that when we just had Alyssa and over the last few years, I've learned that even though I hate to ask people to watch the kids, we need our time together.

So fun that you enjoyed your time at Walmart too. We don't have a super one here, but I'd love to see what all the fuss is about!

Thanks for the recommendation. Your husband sounds just like mine. A sweet nice guy that will do everything for you even though it is not his thing. The falling asleep part is my husband all the way. They must be twins.

I like going to Walmart. They have the cheapest prices and a pretty good selection. Usually whatever they don't have Kroger will. I haven't seen that movie. Honestly, I thought it looked stupid but maybe it isn't since a few seem to like it but I know Anthony wouldn't want to watch something like that.
