A Story for Every Mom

"I pooped!  I pooped!"  This is what I awoke to this morning at a bright and early 6:13am.  I tried to make sense of what Molly told me just a minute ago.  I said, "you pooped?"  "Yes, Mommy, I pooped!"  Okay, I thought just go turn the coffee on and then we will change her diaper.  Mind you it's dark in our house at this early hour, and the only thing illuminating the hall was a night light.  As I was getting out of bed I thought to myself, "Holy, wow, what did she eat, this poop has a strong aroma to it."

Thank the Lord for the light from the night light that revealed to me that my daughter had not only stripped herself of her pajamas, but also her poopy diaper.  I was in total shock, this has not happened before!  The pajamas yes, oddly enough, the moment she wakes up from sleeping she takes her pajamas off and puts them in her laundry basket.  But she has never just helped herself to her diaper.  I clearly could not lay her down without making a mess, so at 6:15am, pulling out like 30 wipes to lay her down on made a lot of sense to me.  I know, I am a genius.

Okay so we get her cleaned up and I begin looking around and smelling for this diaper.  I looked everywhere and could not find it, nor could I find a trace of anything from the diaper.  I asked Molly where she put it, and she showed me to her waste basket that we put the dirty diapers in.  Smart kid.

I have no clue how she managed to get the dirty diaper off, without making a mess, and how she walked into our room without anything falling to the ground, becasue trust me friends, something should have fallen off of her little bottom.

I knew most of you, or all of you coul relate to this stroy, and hopefully you had a little laugh.  It's been enough time for me to find it funny now, at 6:13am, not so funny.

On a totally different note, today was my first day back at the gym in almost 2 months.  December was a weird month for us, busy with the holidays, I started working, so I only went a couple times a week, not my usual 5 times a week like it was with my SAHM status.  Then I found out I was pregnant right before we left for vacation, then when we got back I was put on pelvic rest, then with everything else that happened, yea today was my first time back.  I didn't clear anything with my doctor, but I am pretty sure it's all fine.  I feel fine physically, and seem to have no complications from last week's ER visit.  I got my blood taken before we went to the gym, and hopefully we will know the results tomorrow.

But the gym was fine.  I just did the eliptical for 40 minutes, and watched "Say Yes to the Dress" on TLC.  I loved every minute of it!  Molly did fine in the childcare, which I was a little nervous about.  But she was great, like always.  It was a little odd to be back, but it all went fine.

Then Molly and I drove thru McDonalds and took lunch to Eric.  We had a little picnic in the conference room at the church office.  Now I am going to help myself to some left over chocolate cake from group last night.  Hey, I said I went to the gym, I didn't say I was going all healthy or anything :)

Annnnd, this is why I absolutely cannot wait to be a mommy!!!! Precious story! So glad she put the diaper in the disposal. I was afraid you were about to tell us you found it by stepping into it!?!?!

I am glad you had some time for yourself. That is important. I love your story it is like my everyday life. Lauren used to take her diaper off and she would get poop on everything, talk about gross. She kept putting her hand in it so I finally did what I really didn't want to do. I had to put her in a cold shower and guess what she never did it again. Maybe Molly is getting close to being potty trained. That would be nice.

Oh no, I hope it doesn't rub off to Kyndra! She hasn't taken her dipe off before and I don't want her to start! lol That will be a good story for down the road!

Good for you for getting to the gym! It's been like 5 yrs for me. Boo!

Totally laughing at your poop story. So with this one though: Bella + Molly does not = twins. See, Bella did this once, but painted her walls, door, crib and closet with the contents of her diaper. I had no problem finding where it all was! Molly is smart to use the trash can. As far as my memory goes, I never smeared her poop all over everything, so not sure where she came up with that :o)

That scared me I too thought you were going to tell us you stepped in something. There is never a dull moment being a mother. hoping the granddaughters will want the potty soon too. Especially when they know. Just walked tonight and it felt like its been 2 years since the last time. Loved it and cant wait to get back in the routine.
love ya

Also...kudos to you for going to the gym. You are a woman after my own heart hitting McDonald's afterward! =)

LOL!! You got super lucky on that one! Lily was my one that would take her dirty diaper off all the time and she wasn't so clean about it! She would leave a trail :( Ha! She would throw it away though.

She sounds so adorable though! How sweet of her to tell you and throw it in the diaper pail too. Mommy's little helper! :)

Good for you for working out....my girls have been obsessed with getting on the treadmill and bike lately. Wish their motivation would rub off on me!

Oh my gosh! That's so funny! Evan hasn't done that quite yet although he has removed his pajama bottoms a few times! ha!

Glad to hear you're back at the gym. I've really got to get back into my groove I had before I became a mommy. It's hard...

Too funny! You had me in suspense with the potty story. I was thinking that maybe she went and made it in the potty! :)

Glad you were able to get back to the gym. I need to do better at caring about my weight. LOL about the last line of this post and the chocolate cake. I have such a sweet tooth I wouldn't have been able to resist the cake either!

I totally understand the "fastfood/desserts" after the gym...almost everytime Eric & I go to the gym together as we're driving home he says "where do you want to eat?" haha
or when I come home after a fitness class I'm like Want some ice cream??

Oh my goodness! That is too funny! What a smart little girl! It could've been a lot worse! It is so great that you've started working out again. Say yes to the Dress is one of my fav shows!

Working out is over-rated. It has been SO long since I've been to a gym (about 7 years to be exact). I wouldn't know what to do with the machines!!! Going to McDonalds afterwards...hilarious, but something I would do also. Must run in the family...
