Catchin' Up

I feel like the title of this post is my life story!  I hate feeling behind, you know when you look around and everything seems to be out of place, or missing, or you work all day and at the end you think "what did I do all day?!"  Yea, that's been me since about January.  Oh well...

Last Thursday we took the staff from The Ridge and some Team Leaders to Willow Creek to the Catalyst One Day conference.  It was amazing!!  We heard Craig Groeschel and Andy Stanley live.  They were awesome!  It was a great momentum boost that we all needed.  The worship was fantastic and the messages they brought just touched you right where you needed it.

After the conference our best friends from college, Eric, Kim, and their son, Beckham followed us back to spend the weekend in Milwaukee.  We have not seen them in a long time, so it was so nice to sit and talk, and just catch up.  I talk to Kim on the phone almost weekly, but to see her and talk to her in person was so nice.  I miss them so much already!

Then Sunday was church...I hate to say that it's a working day, but honestly, it is.  Eric gave the message and did a wonderful job if I do say so myself.  We are all gearing up for Easter Sunday next week.  Our church has been challenged to pray for and invite 3 people with them next Sunday.  Wouldn't it be amazing if everyone invited really came.  Wow!

Then last night we had a staff appreciation dinner at someone's house.  This one couple emailed us and said we want to have the staff over for dinner, just to say thanks for all you do.  I am not sure if anyone else knew about what was going to happen there, but I was clueless.  This couple's neighborhood group got all dressed up like waiters, seriously, fancy shoes, vests, the works, and they greeted us at the door, took our coats, and kids.  They had a babysitter for all of the kids and a huge menu planned for us!  It was awesome and I was so blown away!  I felt a little awkward having people that go to church with me "serving" me, but it was nice to not have to do the dishes last night!  We all felt appreciated by the time we left, that's for sure!  I took pictures of the menu and our dining area.  I just have to find my camera cord to upload them.

Overall, that was my weekend in a nutshell.  This week shouldn't be too crazy busy, hopefully!  I have been trying to get ahead on work stuff, so I can have more time for blogstuff :)  Although I may not comment all the time, I am still keeping up with you all, be certain of that!

Anyone have any Easter plans?  We are laying low and just enjoying the day together.  I am excited for Molly's Easter basket, I am sure she will love it!  Have a fabulous Monday!

Gosh, I feel like I've been playing a lot of catch up lately! Glad you got to see some friends! We got to see some friends over the weekend too so that was nice.

How awesome that you had such a neat dinner and was served! What a treat!

We're going back to the northern region for the weekend. I think my mom is gonna color eggs with the girls and have a little easter egg hunt.

So nice to catch up with you, sweet Kate. What a special church family you have...beautiful servant hearts!

For Easter, my husband and I will be leading worship with the praise team at the 7:30 and 10:00am services. Then I will be hosting a yummy dinner at my house: ham (basted in honey, mustard, and brown sugar), corn casserole, cheesy potatoes, rolls, and maybe some cake for dessert!

Hope your Easter celebration is a blessing...and hoping we can all take some time to reflect on the gift that our Savior gave to us. He is Risen!!

Being behind seems normal. I always feel that way and I feel I'm always apologizing for it being that way!

You guys are busy, busy! And yes, Sundays are working days for you guys. Fun about the 'being waited on'. That had to have been special and I'm sure they enjoyed doing that!

Easter? We will go to church in the morning and my grandma always has the entire family over for Easter dinner. We also have church tonight and a communion service on Good Friday. It's turning out to be a good Holy Week.
