Finding My Way Back

Today was my first day off in a long time, and let me tell you, it was so nice!  I only went to the office to see Eric, and I didn't even look at the work still left to do before Sunday.  I am doing that tomorrow while Molly naps.  I actually felt like a SAHM again today!  I relished the time I had today with Molly and doing what I what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it.

We went to the gym and to Wal-Mart...awww...and made an impromptu trip to the doctor for Molly.  I just told Eric on Monday that we had not been to the doctor since Molly's 2nd birthday, 6 months and no doctor's visit, that could be a record.  But we broke our record today.  Poor Molly caught a cold over a month ago and it has never gone away, and sometimes her cough gets awful, you know the one that sounds like you have smoked for 50 years, yea that I decided to call and check it out.  When I did call I got the "worst Mom of the year on line one" speech from the nurse.  Thank you, thank you, I am here all week people.  I feel like with a toddler it's a crap shoot, you have a 50/50 shot if they are sick or not when you call.  Apparently the odds were not in my favor today, since she is sick.  She has a pretty bad sinus infection, and if she is not better in 3 days, we will again break our record and go back.

Thankfully I love Molly's doctor and she reassured me that I am in fact a good Mom and I did do everything on my end to help her get better.  So I officially resign my title "Worst Mom of the Year" for now, well at least until something else happens.

Okay, slight train derailment...back to being a was wonderful, and it felt really good to be back home again.  I for sure had times today that I thought Molly was literally trying to drive me insane and I even said to God, "I didn't pray for patience...why are you giving me situations where I need it?!"  But I would never trade anything to be back at home again with Molly.  I love my job/ministry, I love being able to introduce kids to Jesus, but I also love being home with my girl.  I guess I have the best of both worlds...working a couple days a week, staying home a couple days a week.

On a totally different note, I am driving this train, so I will derail it when I want to...I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics tonight to get some fabric (clearly) to try and sew Molly some cute summer dresses.  Do I have a clue what I am doing?  No!  Have I ever done this before?  No!  But I am sure going to try!  In my head I think I can do it, but we will see when the needle meets the cute fabric I bought.

Well, this train is pulling into the bed time station.  Eric's train already pulled in 2 hours ago, ha.  I think tomorrow we might go to the zoo.  It's supposed to be in the 40's.  I know, you may think we are nuts, but that's warm here!  Or we may just hang out and enjoy the day together doing nothing.  Have a great Friday!

Haha! I loved this post!

It's so hard having little ones. It's like if you take them in to the dr too soon, they act like you're overprotective and if you wait, you're a horrible mom. You can't win for losing sometimes! But, you know you're a great Mom!! I hope she is feeling better soon!!

That is so exciting about your fabric. You can do it!! I really need to learn to sew clothing. I know I can do it. I just have never sat down to really learn. It would be awesome to be able to add cute dresses to my shop. I can't wait to hear all about your sewing adventures! Don't you just love how inspiring some cute fabric can be?!!

Have a good day tomorrow!!

Fabric, I am impressed, can you send me some instructions when your done. She is adorable and I think we are living the same life right now. So hard, but you love them so much. I get Lauren's bows all over but these are from Kristin and she is really good and so so nice as you know. So now I buy most there. I have a girl at Drew's school that is really good too.

sorry Molly is sick :( I feel the same way about the DR, and 1/2 the time Eric is like "he's fine...leave him alone" haha
Good luck with making Molly some cute clothes! I'm thinking about taking a one day sewing class @ JoAnne...I've done a pretty good job of just like "winging-it" but while I was making my curtains the bobin' ran out of thread, so I re-threaded it but couldn't put it back in the machine!! UGH. so for the time being my machine is outta comission
trust me I don't think you're crazy for taking advantage of wether in the 40s thats what it was here for us yesterday and I couldn't get Becks outside fast enough! haha

Doing nothing on a Friday sounds good to me. :) Love how you took us on a very informative train ride. I hope that Molly feels better soon. I am always hesitant to take them to the DRs. I always wait. They end up sicker than what I took them. LOL
You are blessed to work a few days and be a SAHM a few days. That is the best of both worlds.
Enjoy your weekend.

I always wait out any type of sickness with Kyndra. I waited a bit before I took her to the dr about the sores. I like to try to get her better on my own first without medicine. I think you are a good mom for waiting to go to the dr. I think that's better that toting them to the dr at the first sign of any sickness IMO.

Good luck with the sewing!! The only thing I have made sewing is baby leggies. I did a pretty decent job. My stitching wasn't the greatest but it held up!! Of course, after I made them I returned my sewing machine. lol

I try to stay away from the doctor as much as possible with Autumn. I just don't feel like dealing with the wait and being around other sick kids and risk picking up something more serious than that standard cold she only gets! HA!

I can't wait to read and see how the sewing turns out! I would LOVE to do the same for my girls. SO you will have to let us know how it goes! GOOD LUCK!
