I may jinx it...

I have been very hesitant to mention anything on here about our recent house hunting...I was afraid I was going to jinx this latest endeavor.  But now I am thinking that my thought process is silly and I am going to spill the beans.

Literally the day I found out I was miscarrying the baby back in January we had a meeting with our loan guy, and our realtor.  I think Eric and I both wanted to feel some sort of normalcy, so we went ahead with both meetings.  We did not mention to either guy what was happening, literally at that moment.  So we got re-approved for our loan, and set up a time to look at some houses.  Last year we tried and tried to buy a house, but nothing ever worked out.  We seriously put in like 5 or 6 offers, and nothing.  So we took that as a clear answer from God to stay put in our apartment and just wait.  That was really hard for the both of us.  We had a house that we loved so dearly in Cincinnati, then when we moved here we figured apartment living would be temporary.  Boy, were we wrong!

I should not complain because the apartment we live in is nice, safe, and the rent has stayed the same for over 2 years.  We are bursting at the seams, but I think it feels cozy here.  So back to the house hunt.  We started in Jan. and we immediately found a house that we both loved.  It's funny because it's in a smaller town in the big city of Milwaukee.  It's hard to explain, but it's like Mayberry in the middle of New York City.  The people who lived in the house are older, and got way behind on their mortgage.  For this I feel awful, but for us, it's a good opportunity.  So the house was listed as a short sale.

I am not even going to get into all of the junk we have gone through for the past 3 months, but it was a lot of junk!  We literally just got everything accepted this week, and we are set to close on April 26!  Hallelujah!  I actually will believe it when we have the keys in our hand, but I am trying to be optimistic.  Tomorrow we are meeting with the loan guy again to finalize everything and start the process of signing our lives away.

I really like the house, and the location.  We really are paying for the location, but that's what they say, right?  The elementary school Molly will go to literally is at the end of our street, we are about 6-7 houses away from it.  And the middle school and high school are literally on the other side of the elementary school.  There is also this cute, little historic downtown where everyone in this town can be found, so we hear.  That's where the post office, library, town hall, coffee shop, little diner, everything is down there!  We are only 3 blocks away from it all!

So please keep this whole deal in your prayers if you remember.  I think it will help us come full circle in a way in the healing process too.  Initially when we saw it online we knew we were going to need another bedroom, then when we put an offer in on it, we didn't necessarily need another bedroom because of the miscarriage.  So in some odd way, it just feels right to be there.  Not sure if any of that made sense, but oh well.

Hope you all have a great Friday!  We are trying to stay warm, it snowed here today, boo!!

How exciting for you. You close on the house on Katrina's birthday. Sounds like a great place to live and to have the school so close is great. I like the part of the town and the things it has to offer, with Findlay growing , Carey is alot nicer to be shopping in and avoid the traffic and crowds. Take advantage of it if you can. Love to all.
P.S. Hope we can get together soon
