Like Mother, Like Daughter

There you have it folks...Molly and I matched on Easter!  She did have a cute green sweater like mine, but since these pictures were taken after church, the sweater was buried in the car, under all of the stuff we cart back and forth between the office and the school.  So picture Molly wearing her cute sweater like mine!

We gave Molls her Easter basket on Saturday night because Sunday mornings are so crazy, and one of us would have missed her opening it.  I really debated on whether to give her a basket or not.  I felt really torn about what is this teaching her, you know all of that Christian Mommy guilt.  In the end I opted for the basket, there was not a lot to it, a book, a crown, stickers, and pajamas, but we also read the story of Jesus from the Bible and really tried to talk to her about the meaning Easter.  Since she is 2 1/2 it was diffucilt and I am not sure she got it, but at least we are trying a new tradition.

Today is a great day in the Brew City...it's the Brewers home opener!!  For all of you non-sports fans, baseball starts today!  I love the Brewers, and going to the games are so much fun!  I am sporting my new Brewers t-shirt I got at Wal-Mart for $5.00, and I love it!  We also are having a terrific weather day right now, but tonight all the rain and storms roll in for the week, boo-hoo!  I guess it can't be beautiful all of the time!  Enjoy your Monday!

Awwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is that the most precious thing I've ever seen, you both look so beautiful too!!!! I just love that!!! :) PRECIOUS!!!!!! You know, sometimes I really wish I had never started the Easter bunny, Santa, tooth fairy stuff. I hate lying/keeping secrets from them, BUT it is really fun and there's really no harm done as long as they know the true meaning, I guess. I don't know....I hope there's no harm done!!

LOL.....my word verification is "venti"....Starbucks is calling my name. Haha!!! :D Have a great day Kate!!

I think you guys looks so cute in matching outfits. Anthony prolly would've been rolling his eyes at me! lol He hates it when I color coordinate us on Sundays.

We did the Easter thing on Friday when we got back to the Findlay area. The girls colored eggs at my mom's and then we went to Trina's for an egg hunt. Kyndra loved hunting for eggs and wanted to hunt more even when she got them all. They got a lot of stuff but I'll prolly end up throwing some of the candy away. We didn't even mention anything about the Easter bunny at all and I don't care to.

Y'all looked SO cute!! Your hubby was just jealous that he wasn't included in all the matching cuteness! I know a couple that does not do the whole Easter bunny and Santa Claus thing but I think it's fun for the little ones! We always try to buy a book or something about the true meaning as one of the gifts!

We just gave our son a basket and told him the story of Easter Eggs. He was so confused today at the store when the nice lady asked if the Easter Bunny came. He about said no. I rephrased and said "did you get a basket for Easter?" You all look so cute in your matching outfits.

You two are so adorable!! haha.

Same here with the Easter bunny stuff. We gave them a basket, though.. Jaelyn got some bubbles and little trinkets and Jace got a gardening kit with a bunch of different kinds of seeds. I don't like giving them junk food anyway, so I struggle with the baskets for that reason as well. We had a long talk this year about the meaning of Easter after Jace told me that it's all about "candy and eggs." Oy.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the outfits! Me and Bella so need to do that too! The dresses are awesome!

Cute photos!

We did a basket with Bella with little things in it, but as with the whole Christmas thing - the Easter Bunny did not visit our house. I told her mommy and daddy got her the stuff. And when you ask her what Easter is about she proudly tells you:

About when Jesus was raised from the dead and He hung on a cross in the middle. Love it!

btw - good idea to do it the night before. Our service that we attend starts at 8:30 - so getting 2 kids and 2 pets along with yourself ready in time to leave before 8am. I will remember this next year!

Too cute, matchy matchy!! I'm sure you have seen our matchy matchy pics on the FB! :) We did our Easter basket the night before two--for multiple reasons. I love Easter baskets because I still got one well into my 20's, so I will do that as well. We also are going to do it the night before so we can separate the "secular" from the real! Same with Christmas. You better believe that Easter basket comes from Mommy and Daddy at our house because I am a selfish girl who wants her kids to know her parents work hard to get her things, ha!

We tried explaining Easter too...we finally settled with making sure she knows Jesus is alive! :)

Love your matching outfits. We give the kids baskets, but they know that they come from us. They know they are gifts to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
Glad you had a great Easter.
Blessings,
Amy

I think you and Molly looked great. It could have only been better if Eric had sported and green (or pink) shirt. Reminds me of you and me and our matching outfits. Love you blue eyes.

I LOVE the matching outfits. You girls looked so pretty!

Know what you mean about feeling torn about Easter baskets. I didn't make any for our girls this year and I usually never do. I tried to explain the story of Easter to Alyssa but it was a tough one, and I don't think she got it.

This year was just a rough kind of Easter since we still aren't going to church, but I hope things will be different next year.

Hope you have a great rest of your week!

So cute. Yes we do the basket but don't make a big deal about it being from the Easter Bunny. It is just fun. Love the pictures.
