On Thursday, Lucy turned 6 months old! Oh my word, pretty soon I am going to have to start planning for a birthday party! I don't even want to think about that! Lucy did great at the doctor, she did pretty good with the shots, she didn't cry for the first one, but she let us know she felt the second one! After a minute or so of crying she was all good, but her little injection sites are all red and swollen, but I think it's because she keeps scratching at them. I am sure most of you have noticed in all of her pictures her mouth always has a red rash around it. I hate that darn thing! We thought it was from all of the drooling, and part of it is and the other part is eczema. She has a really bad case of it. So the doctor has been telling us to try different things over the last few months, but now she wants us to go see a Children's Dermatologist Specialist at Children's Hospital. Say that 5 times fast! They should be able to give her something that should help clear it up, and stay cleared up. It is so hard to keep that area dry, since she is teething and drooling like a machine. So any type of cream you put on it does no good! So hopefully her little rash can get better soon!
Lucy...here is what you are up to!
-You weigh right around 23 pounds! You kept moving all over the scale, so they just called it at 23, so maybe a little more :) So you are still greater than the 95%
-You are 26 1/2 inches long...you are shrinking when it comes to percentiles! Now you are in the 80%!
-I am not sure the measurement of your head, I know you are in the 30%...which is funny because most headbands don't fit your big head!
-You have been saying da-da for over a month now, and maybe a little yea-yea...or it could still be da-da...but you babble all the time, and you really like to scream and shriek at the top of your lungs!
-You LIGHT UP when you see your sister! She loves to sit on the floor and play with you and you love every minute of her attention. Stay this way your whole life, please!
-Today you got up on your hands and knees, and kept pushing yourself forward with your toes...you also tried army crawling! I am excited for you to explore, yet I am not ready to see you so big already!
-You love the cat, well, you love pulling on the cat's fur! But he doesn't mind one bit :)
-You are very content, happy, and pleasant! Everyone comments on how laid back you are, which God knew I needed one kid to be laid back!
-You love playing with toys on the floor, we can't put you in the exersaucer any more, you want more freedom! And you outgrew the swing and bouncy seat months ago!
-You are wearing pretty much 24 month clothes...I am trying to squeeze you into some 18 months...we have so many things you never even wore!
-You are in size 5 diapers...I am a little worried, diapers only go to size 6!
-You love food, which is obvious little "Miss Greater Than the 95%!" But I am glad it is not a struggle to feed you, the only struggle is when you run out!
-You love your feet, really, you do! You put them in your mouth any chance you get!
-We have loved every single day with you for the past 6 months, we are excited to see where the next 6 months lead us!
