8 Years

Yesterday Eric and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary.  And the best part was it was just an ordinary day.  We aren't fancy celebraters, and we don't do gifts.  Not that any of that is bad, and actually Eric did bring me Starbucks, put that one down in the record books.  Yesterday was nice because we just lived life with a little spring in our step.  Molly was off school for the holiday {a very extended holiday}, so I got to spend some extra time with her, and Lucy, well she is just too darn funny and cute for her own good.  Eric went off to the gym and work like normal, when he got home we were rushing around like normal because we have our church small group on Tuesday nights over at our house, and last night Molly had a mini-soccer boot camp thing we signed her up for months ago.

So although it was hectic and we forfeited eating dinner together, I wouldn't have traded it for anything else in the world.  I get to do life with my best friend every single day.  Some days are better than others, but on those not so great days, I look forward to going to bed and laying beside my best friend all night and that makes it a great day.

Here is the verse I am meditating on for year 8...
"And don't be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else.
Where you are right now is God's place for you.
Live and obey and love and believe right there..." 1 Corinthians 7:17

8 is going to be great :)

How did I miss that we have the same anniversary? AND the same amount of years! I probably knew that last year and forgot! :) Happy Anniversary, friend! Miss you!

Happy Anniversary to both of you! Love the simple way you celebrated. We are very similar at the Gerken house in our "simple celebrating", and that is ok with me.

Love, love, love that version of the scripture you shared. Perfect.
